Detailed Bias Analysis

Analyzing...
Leans Progressive

Primary

Star Trek: Prodigy is left-leaning as its central narrative champions Starfleet's inherently progressive ideals of diversity, cooperation, and anti-tyranny as the solution to exploitation and conflict, emphasizing empathy and peaceful exploration.

Star Trek: Prodigy features a diverse cast of alien characters, reflecting the franchise's long-standing commitment to varied representation. The narrative focuses on universal themes of exploration and teamwork, without explicitly critiquing traditional identities.

Secondary

Star Trek: Prodigy features Zero, a non-binary Medusan character who is a vital and respected member of the crew. Their identity is depicted with dignity and complexity, serving as a positive and affirming representation without being a source of conflict or negative stereotypes within the narrative.

The movie does not contain any action or adventure elements.

Star Trek: Prodigy primarily features new, original characters. The main legacy character, Hologram Janeway (and later Admiral Janeway), retains her established female gender from previous Star Trek series. No established characters have their gender changed.

Star Trek: Prodigy introduces a new, original crew whose races were not previously established. Legacy characters like Janeway are depicted consistent with their original portrayals. No established character's race was altered.
